We finally had a full weekend with nice sunny warm (but not too hot!) weather, no rain, and ample opportunities to get outside. I don't know about you, but the nice weather, sunshine, and getting out into the fresh air works wonders on my mood, energy level, and ability to focus. This nice weather has also coincided with the ribbon cutting ceremony for Clough Elementary School's outdoor classroom, where they have created, through a community effort, to take learning outside. Our new gardens are up and running at Miscoe and we have seen our students working hard in the courtyard the last week. We also have seen an increase in field trips to off-campus learning.
Here are a few articles about the benefits of learning outside.
This week's challenge: Get your students outside learning, doing, and interacting.
