This past week I was able to celebrate both Passover and Easter with my family (both virtually and at home) and although I've kind of given up on trying to convince my boys to dress up in cute Easter colored clothes, I always try to capture a nice picture of the boys on the holidays. Now, although I could just share the one last photo of my boys smiling, that would be a bit disingenuous as it took about 10 takes to get to that last take. Looking through my camera roll of takes of this picture reminds me a bit of our work we are doing right now. This remote learning work is going to go through many iterations or takes, some of them that will be messy, and others will be resounding successes. All of it is going to take grit and perseverance. Last week, I wrote about how "We Got This!" as we launched into a more formalized remote learning and I was thrilled to hear that overall the week went well for folks. Obviously, your hard work, passion, and teamwork launched you into a successful start. Remember, that we are all learning an entirely new way to educate our students and it is normal to fall into the learning pit as illustrated below, but you notice that we come out of it with the help of our colleagues and are stronger for it when we do. So, if any day you find yourself struggling, please reach out! MURSD Highlights

Interesting Reads on Remote Learning
Read Alouds For those of you who may have had questions about reading out loud, this is a great article on fair-use of reading out loud to students: Reading out loud--Fair Use: https://www.edsurge.com/news/2020-03-30-can-teachers-read-books-out-loud-online-actually-yes Also, this is the time of year I typically offer to be a mystery reader and read to elementary classes, so please let me know if you are looking for an additional reader, as I'd be happy to read to your class.
