The Week ahead
We have a busy week ahead with our conferences and other school events. In speaking with a couple of you last week as I saw you preparing for conferences, we talked about how has a parent, the most important thing I seek from conferences is that the teachers truly "see" and know my children and care about them. Knowing all of you, I am certain that you will convey these qualities when you are meeting with parents and caregivers in our district. Thank you for all that you do.

Cybersecurity awareness
In honor of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Commonwealth Fusion Center (CFC) aims to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity by sharing information with individuals throughout the Commonwealth to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to be more secure online. The MSP CFC will release new products throughout the month on important cybersecurity topics.
CANVA-RECENT UPDATES
If your students are using Canva please note Canva has decided to deactivate the external sharing capabilities for your students only. Canva realizes the importance of keeping students safe online and this is their decision to help that process. Colleen checked the permissions and she can't give different permissions for older students to be able to share externally. It's all students or none of them. Hopefully, this change is not too much of an issue.
Educator-Directed PD - Submit your proposals
Our next PD day is November 7th and is educator-directed. Everyone should have an idea for what they'd like to focus on, and should have had somebody from their team or department submit the idea on TeachPoint for approval. We are hoping all proposals will be submitted by Wednesday and all educators will have registered by this Friday, November 3rd. Here are the directions for submitting proposals again:
Once you or your team has generated a description of what you will focus on, have one member of your team enter the description in Teach Point using these directions for submitting a PD plan for November 7th in TeachPoint. Once your session has been approved, each member of your team will need to sign up for that session in TeachPoint. Reach out to Kim Lowther if you have questions Once your proposal is approved it will show up under your “My Activities” tab. Kim Lowther may be reaching out if you submitted a proposal for a group but labeled it as "individual." Thanks for attending to her instructions in order that you can all appropriately enroll and have this added to your TeachPoint accounts. Here are some details about November 7th
Reach out to Kim Lowther or I if you have any questions or TeachPoint challenges. -Cheryl Workshop for GENERAL EDUCATORS FOCUSING ON SPECIAL EDUCATION
